Context: Dynatrace is an application performance monitoring tool that provides monitoring and analytics of applications, infrastructu
re and cloud environments as well. This article helps to create a consolidated dashboard to monitor application performance, track and analyze key metrics, quickly identify and resolve issues. Creating performance monitoring dashboard is a powerful way to gain insights into your applications and infrastructure.



Benefits: Dynatrace dashboard provides real-time view of the health and performance of application user experience, allowing organization to monitor applications continuously which helps quicker response to potential problems. Track and analyze critical performance indicators for the applications and services. Organization can customize dashboard to focus on the metrics that matters most. Dashboard also helps to optimize resource allocation and reduce manual effort. Helps to understand performance trends and areas of improvement which makes application/infrastructure resilient.

How to Create:

1. Login to your Dynatrace environment using your credentials

2. Click on "Dashboards" from the left navigation menu I

3. Click "Create Dashboard" button and give a name to your dashboard

4. Provide brief description about the dashboard (Optional) 5. To start adding visual components, click "Add tile" button

6. Choose tile type based on your requirements (For eg: Single Value - To display a single metric value of CPU and memory usage)

7. Configure the tile by selecting metrics. For application metrics, select response times, failure rate, HTTP monitors. For Infrastructure metrics, select hosts or VMs, CPU usage, disk I/O
8. Select the timeframe for the data and filter the tile to show data for specific applications or components

9. Adjust type of chart, colours, thresholds to visualize data easier for monitoring

10. Arrange the tiles to prioritize metrics to capture potential issues easily

11. Click "Save" to save your dashboard

12. For sharing the dashboard, click "Share" option to provide access to appropriate team/Organization. (OR) Set as public to make the dashbo within your organization.

13. Over time, adjust the tiles and metrics based on new insights or changes in your environment.
